This is an unlicensed variation of the classic Harvey Ball smiley face which was created in 1962 and popularized by Bernard and Murray Spain who mass produced smiley face merchandise in the 70s. The Harvey Ball smiley face buttons were pinback style, making this stickpin style all the more interesting. A piece of button history.
